I went out today to get a small ball of yarn for finishing dad's christmas socks. They didn't have the colour I needed. So instead I ended up with enough wool for at least 4 pairs of other socks, a pair of jeans, a pair of woolen trousers and three long sleeved shirts.
Well, at least the pants were on sale and I hadn't bought new ones in about 18 month and long sleeved shirts in even longer. And the shirts gave me a nice shock, too. Somebody screwed up the labeling and I had to go up to size XL to find some that fit. Usually I wear M. Gahhh!
I'm reading Terry Pratchett's Wintersmith and fascinated how people with different language backgrounds spell out animal sounds. According to Pratchett a chicken with nothing better to do sounds like this: "werk". If I were to spell out the same sound it would be "bock". Same sound, one in four letters match...
